Health Care Originals Featured Among New SuperCrowd Impact Offerings — October 12, 2026
Each week we list new offerings on FINRA-registered crowdfunding portals and broker-dealers, and classify them as Social Impact, Women in Leadership or Underrepresented Founder Leadership using the SuperCrowd Classification Policy and public information.
Cal Barnes Shows How Creativity Can Make a Great Film on a Small Budget
tl;dr:
Cal Barnes introduces The Influencer House Massacre, a contained horror thriller exploring influencer culture through independent filmmaking.
His award-winning play Rise taught him that strong storytelling requires workshopping, rewriting and creative collaboration.
Cal uses regulated investment crowdfunding through Wefunder to help finance independent films and broaden access to film investment.
His superpower is creativity, demonstrated by producing The Astrid Experience with limited funds and an iPhone.
Cal encourages sharing ideas, listening to collaborators and refining first drafts while pursuing ambitious projects that give back to children.
Better Crowdfunding Reporting Could Bring More Capital to Founders
More capital for founders begins, in part, with better information for investors. That is why I’m celebrating Paul Lovejoy and a new initiative from the Crowdfunding Professional Association.
On October 12, 2026, the CfPA released version 1.0 of its Private Market Reporting Standard, or PMRS. This voluntary framework gives crowdfunding platforms a common format for reporting investment, payment and performance data.

Paul, who chairs the CfPA’s Investor Committee and serves as one of our Superpowers for Good Live Pitch judges, led the effort with contributions from the Investor and Intermediary committees. As the association’s Vice Chair and Treasurer, I’m proud of this work and grateful for his leadership.
Anyone investing across multiple portals can appreciate the problem. A loan to a neighborhood bakery, shares in a growing company and a revenue-sharing investment may arrive with different reports and terminology. Bringing those records together to understand a portfolio’s financial performance can become a project of its own.
Turning Wasted Renewable Energy Into Natural Gas Could Help Decarbonize Existing Buildings
tl;dr:
Standard Carbon converts captured carbon dioxide and surplus clean electricity into synthetic natural gas to help reduce industrial emissions.
Its technology stores renewable energy as fuel while leveraging existing natural gas infrastructure, reducing disruption and potentially lowering energy costs.
Natan Shahar sees an opportunity where decarbonization regulations meet inexpensive renewable electricity and growing demand for practical solutions.
His superpower is patience: recognizing scientific and market forces early, then persisting until conditions create meaningful opportunities.
By anticipating New York’s building emissions regulations and preparing for enforcement, Natan positioned Standard Carbon to address a growing market need.
