More capital for founders begins, in part, with better information for investors. That is why I’m celebrating Paul Lovejoy and a new initiative from the Crowdfunding Professional Association.
On October 12, 2026, the CfPA released version 1.0 of its Private Market Reporting Standard, or PMRS. This voluntary framework gives crowdfunding platforms a common format for reporting investment, payment and performance data.

Paul, who chairs the CfPA’s Investor Committee and serves as one of our Superpowers for Good Live Pitch judges, led the effort with contributions from the Investor and Intermediary committees. As the association’s Vice Chair and Treasurer, I’m proud of this work and grateful for his leadership.
Anyone investing across multiple portals can appreciate the problem. A loan to a neighborhood bakery, shares in a growing company and a revenue-sharing investment may arrive with different reports and terminology. Bringing those records together to understand a portfolio’s financial performance can become a project of its own.
The PMRS creates a shared reporting structure for holdings, payment schedules, payment histories and other relevant information. It covers loans, revenue sharing notes, operating company equity, real estate equity and funds with published net asset values. Common definitions make information easier to combine and use.
Paul’s vision extends beyond making spreadsheets easier. Better measurement could help attract sophisticated institutional capital to the Reg CF marketplace, expanding the pool of funding available to entrepreneurs.
Imagine an investment manager overseeing billions of dollars allocating a small portion of that capital across many crowdfunding offerings. Individual investments could be modest while the combined commitment becomes meaningful. To pursue that approach, the manager needs a practical way to track cash flows and measure financial outcomes across the portfolio.
A common reporting format could reduce the administrative burden of that strategy. That is the opportunity I see: making a diversified crowdfunding portfolio easier to evaluate and manage could make it more attractive to larger investors. Everyday investors benefit, too, with less time reconciling records and more opportunity to understand where their money stands.
For the founders our community supports, that could mean more opportunities to finance climate solutions, strengthen public health, expand economic opportunity and build thriving local businesses.
At The SuperCrowd, we are committed to working with portals to obtain performance data for our Impact Members and report it through our Impact League gamified portfolio tracker. We want members to understand how their investments are performing financially alongside the impact they hope to create.
Impact League makes participating in impact crowdfunding engaging. Better data can help make that engagement more informative, giving members a clearer picture of their portfolios and helping them learn from the outcomes of their investment decisions.
Adoption will determine how much this initiative accomplishes. Wefunder and Climatize are reviewing the standard for adoption. I encourage other portals to review the specification, data dictionary and sample workbook, then help put the standard into practice.
Congratulations, Paul, and congratulations to the CfPA. You’re helping build the reporting foundation that a larger, stronger crowdfunding marketplace needs.
