Brilliant piece on how pre-existing community trumps product quality in crowdfunding. The Organic Transit example really nails this because they presold 800 units before even hitting Wefunder, basically the communitywas already there and willing to engage financialy. Most founders I see jump straight to platform mechanics without realizing their real job is community archaeology, digging up and organizing the believers who already exist around what their solving.

Thank you! I love your term “community archaeology”—it perfectly captures the importance of rallying existing supporters. Organic Transit is a great example of how engaged communities drive crowdfunding success!
