Press Release – Wender Weis Foundation for Children (WWFC) will host its 9th Annual Holiday Heroes, a magical holiday party bringing joy to children and families, on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at AT&T Park in San Francisco. Now in its 24th year of helping underserved children in the Bay Area, WWFC is pleased to once again host this festive fundraiser that is sure to delight all in attendance.
“Each December we take over AT&T Park for one night and turn it into a holiday wonderland. We partner with the sports teams, companies and philanthropists, and connect at-risk children with professional athletes,” said Amy Wender-Hoch, founder of Wender Weis Foundation for Children. “We create experiences that provide hope, direction and the ability to dream big. We expect to host 1,500 attendees with more than 400 underserved children and their families to a Holiday Heroes night they will never forget.”
Guests at Holiday Heroes will enjoy a chance to meet their favorite local sports heroes, such as former San Francisco Giants’ player Hunter Pence. The event includes holiday arts and crafts, stuff your own stuffed bear toy, face painting, cookie decorating, a teen lounge for kids ages 11- 17, story time with Sports Reporter Amy G, photo trading cards, and arcade games. Guests will have special access to the San Francisco Giants’ batting tunnels, dugout and a chance to run the bases. An incredible silent auction filled with one-of-a-kind experiences, trips, sports memorabilia and more will be offered throughout the night.
“Holiday Heroes is our biggest fundraiser of the year and it gives us the opportunity to help children who are in need all year long,” said Wender-Hoch. With the funds raised over the years, we’ve been able to donate $2 million to non-profits we support, host over 5,000 at-riskchildren, serve over 40,000 underserved children, and 450 professional athletes have donated their time to attend Holiday Heroes.”
VIP tickets holders will receive early entry into the ballpark and have first access to the on-field activities, including the batting tunnels and dugout, making s’mores, and enjoying appetizers and beverages. The special VIP festivities will begin at 4:30 p.m. with General Admission gates opening at 5:30 p.m. Ticket packages to Holiday Heroes range in price from $300 to $850, with sponsorships starting at $2,500, and are available at wenderweis.org or by calling 650.325.5302.
