Wave, The Geolocation Mobile App, Used By Over 11 Million Users, Hits An Overfunded Status On Their Campaign In First Week
After a successful crowdfunding campaign in 2016, the popular geolocation app is back for a second time on the UK’s very own equity crowdfunding site Crowdcube.
Press Release – Manuel de la Esperanza and Luis Gelado, the co-founders of Wave, started the new crowdfunding campaign with dreams of hitting £500,000, but thanks to the support of their unconditional fans, the business angels and investors who trust them, they hit their initial target in the first day of it going live, and have, since they started, already raised an incredible £669,000, which is 133% overfunded.
The app was praised, in their 2016 run, for their transparency and continuous devotion to investors.
But what lead to the two co-founders making the app?
“The idea of Wave arose from a real circumstance, where both myself, and Luis, waited at a meeting for a partner who did not arrive.” – Manuel De La Esperanza
“He was riding a motorcycle, so he could not communicate, meaning we did not know his location and the reason for his delay. That was the moment we started asking ourselves, ‘Why has no one solved the where are you question?’” – Luis Gelado
“And so Wave was born. Thanks to Wave, this does not have to happen again as the application puts technology as an ally in the service of real life, facilitating meetings between people.” – Manuel De La Esperanza
Now that the geo-location market has become more saturated, the team at Wave have a new challenge: to continue developing new features, to follow the precision of technology, and to, most importantly, give the best service of all it’s competitors. It is a challenge, but it‘s possible.
The mobile app, which enables it’s 11 million+ users to share their live location in real time, in a private map, for a limited time period, or, gives them to option to share for an unlimited period of time with the ones that matter to them the most, has 21 days left on the campaign.
The company has already signed Series A for €2 million, with international VC’s, so investors should be aware they would be co-investing. There are more details about this on their campaign page.
