US Air Force Col (ret) Supports Warriors Heart Foundation “Pay It Forward” Program
Press Release – US Air Force Colonel (ret) Chris Stricklin and his wife Terri just launched a Warriors Heart Foundation Awareness Campaign and Fundraiser from June 14, 2018 (Flag Day) to June 30 (Liberty Day) to support veterans and first responders struggling with addiction, PTSD, mild TBI and other recurring issues. This campaign features a raffle and silent auction for two custom wood American flags made by veterans and first responders during residential treatment at Warriors Heart.
These one-of-a-kind American flags are pieces of art hand-painted by warriors (military, veterans and first responders) at the Warriors Heart Foundation Metal and Wood Shop as part of their “Pay It Forward” program. Each wooden flag is hand-signed by the artist on the back. And all funds will go to this 501(c)(3) foundation to supplement insurance costs and provide scholarships to Warriors Heart.
Stricklin served in the US Air Force for 23 years, including combat in Afghanistan and Iraq, and is on the Warriors Heart Honorary Board of Advisors. After hearing fellow warriors share long-term recovery stories at their 543-acre ranch in Texas, Stricklin felt compelled to help heal our protectors who put their lives on the line every day.
In a recent NBC Bay Area interview, Stricklin emphasized, “I think it’s important because we have to protect those who protect us. People who serve, whether it’s veterans or first responders, devote their lives, their families’ lives to the flag, to what our freedom stands for. And in their time of need, we need to give back to them and take care of them.”
Anyone can buy raffle tickets and learn more on Stricklin’s “Protecting Our Protectors” Facebook page from June 14-30, 2018.

And with the 4th of July holiday approaching, US Air Force Colonel (ret) Chris Stricklin shared this reflection; “The flag means everything to us and guides our actions and reactions each and every day. The flag represents freedom. It is a symbol of our home and all we believe in…here, it also represents freedom from addiction. And the quality of these flags matches the quality of healing that went into the construction of it.”
