Two Big Steps Forward for The Super Crowd
The new SuperCrowd Impact League and SuperCrowd.tv are designed to help our community grow, connect and do more good together.
Big News at the SuperCrowd
I’m excited to share two big updates from The Super Crowd, Inc., a public benefit corporation.
Both are designed to do the same thing: help us build a bigger, stronger, more engaged community around impact crowdfunding.
SuperCrowd Impact League
The first is the SuperCrowd Impact League, a gamified portfolio tracker for impact investors. The second is SuperCrowd.tv, our new television channel, now available on Roku and Amazon Fire TV.
I’m proud of both. I’m excited about both. And I think each represents a meaningful step forward for our work together.
Let’s start with the Impact League.
As many of you know, I’m a big believer in making lots of small impact investments through Regulation Crowdfunding. That approach allows ordinary investors to support the entrepreneurs, founders and companies they believe in without needing to be wealthy.
But keeping track of those investments can be tricky.
A $100 investment here, a $1,000 investment there, a $10 investment somewhere else—it adds up, and not just financially. It adds up in impact, in learning, in engagement and in community.
That’s why we created the SuperCrowd Impact League.
At its core, it is a portfolio tracker. You can use it to keep a record of your Reg CF investments. But we didn’t stop there. We gamified it.
Investors earn points for making impact investments via crowdfunding. There is a leaderboard with both monthly and annual tallies. Monthly winners will receive prizes, and we’re planning something special for the annual winner as well.
Here’s the best part: the scoring is not based on how much money you invest.
Someone investing $10 can earn just as many points as someone investing $10,000.
That matters to me. It makes the league a level playing field. This isn’t a competition to see who has the most wealth. It is a way to celebrate participation, engagement and commitment to impact.
You earn 100 points for every Reg CF investment you make. Then you can earn additional points based on the impact and leadership characteristics of the company:
You get 100 bonus points when we can identify a social or environmental impact.
You get another 100 points when there is one or more women in the C-suite.
You get another 100 points when there are underrepresented founders or leaders.
You get another 100 points when the company has been featured on Superpowers for Good or in one of our live pitch events.
And you get 200 bonus points when the company was one of “Devin’s Impact Picks of the Week.”
The process is simple. After you register, you’ll receive an email address you can use to forward your investment confirmation emails from crowdfunding portals. Once you forward the confirmation, we’ll record the investment, calculate the points and add you to the leaderboard.
That’s it.
You don’t have to create a spreadsheet. You don’t have to tally the points. You don’t have to figure out which bonus categories apply.
Just forward the confirmation email and let us do the rest.
You can check it out now at impactleague.thesupercrowd.com.
SuperCrowd.tv
The second big update is SuperCrowd.tv.
Yes, The Super Crowd now has its own television channel.
You can use SuperCrowd.tv to watch Superpowers for Good, our live pitch events, SuperCrowdHour webinars and, soon, SuperCrowd26. We’ll continue adding more content as we grow.
I want to be clear: we’re not leaving e360tv. We love e360tv and will continue syndicating our programming there, as we have for years.
SuperCrowd.tv gives us another channel—another path—to reach more people and make our content easier to find.
You can now add SuperCrowd.tv to your Roku or Amazon Fire TV device. Just visit supercrowd.tv from your phone or laptop, and you’ll be able to add the channel to your device. The next time you open your Roku or Fire TV, SuperCrowd.tv will be there.
You can also search for SuperCrowd TV directly on Roku or Amazon Fire TV, but I find the website makes the process easier.
This is a big deal for us.
We built a functioning television channel on the two dominant streaming platforms. That gives our sponsors, founders, investors and community members a more powerful way to participate in the growing impact crowdfunding ecosystem.
It also gives us room to grow.
The Super Crowd has been expanding in exciting ways. The newsletter, the show, live pitch events, SuperCrowdHour webinars, SuperCrowd conferences, Devin’s Impact Picks, the Impact League and now SuperCrowd.tv are all part of the same mission.
We are working to help more people use their money for good.
We want more investors to discover impact companies. We want more entrepreneurs raising capital from communities that believe in them. We want more people to understand that investing doesn’t have to be limited to Wall Street, Silicon Valley or the already wealthy.
Impact crowdfunding can be local. It can be personal. It can be inclusive. It can be fun.
That’s what the SuperCrowd Impact League is about.
And SuperCrowd.tv gives us a bigger stage for sharing these stories.
So, I invite you to do two things today.
First, visit impactleague.thesupercrowd.com and join the SuperCrowd Impact League. If you’re already investing through Regulation Crowdfunding, this is a great way to track your activity and celebrate your impact. If you’re new to impact crowdfunding, this is a fun way to begin.
Second, visit supercrowd.tv and add SuperCrowd.tv to your Roku or Amazon Fire TV device. Then pull us up on your television and watch some of the incredible founders, investors and changemakers we’ve featured.
I’m excited. I’m grateful. And I’m convinced these two launches represent a meaningful next step for The Super Crowd, Inc., a public benefit corporation.
Thank you for being part of this community.
Now, let’s do some good.
