The device, sleek and adhesive, affixes to a patient’s chest, instantly measures key vitals, and assigns triage priorities. Real-time data allows a central base station to rank and rerank patients continuously, ensuring the sickest are treated first.
The goal isn’t to replace providers but to give them the tools to manage overflow effectively. “In the middle of chaos, we can have super cognitive overload,” Jessica said. “This is just there to help.”
The inspiration for Triage360 came from Jessica’s personal experiences as an ER nurse navigating tragic moments born from what she called “failure to rescue.” It wasn’t always a lack of skill or effort—often, it was limited information or inadequate resources leading to devastating outcomes. “I’ve walked in and found patients who didn’t make it, simply because we didn’t know they were going downhill,” she said.
Jessica’s journey from nurse to tech entrepreneur exemplifies grit and vision. After losing colleagues to the moral injury of preventable tragedies, she said, “I refused to let this be the status quo.” She built her company step by step, leveraging community support, securing grants, and assembling a team to bring Triage360 to life.
With growing interest from industries beyond hospitals, including the military and disaster response organizations, Triage360 promises to improve outcomes on battlefields, in disaster zones, and potentially even in space.
