These four companies earned their places. Seventeen companies applied. Our judges—Paul Lovejoy, Sherwood “Woodie” Neiss and Léa Bouhelier-Gautreau—screened the applicants and selected the four they found especially compelling.
This evening, you’ll watch those same judges examine the opportunities more closely. Their selection is an invitation to investigate, and you get to learn alongside them.
The finalists bring four very different approaches to creating impact. All four are raising capital on Wefunder:
Airthium is working to decarbonize industrial heat. Led by co-founder and CEO Dr. Andrei Klochko, the Y Combinator–backed company is developing high-temperature heat pumps to help industry replace fossil fuels with electricity, with technology also designed to support seasonal energy storage.
Anywhere Dx, led by co-founder and CEO Nathalya Mamane, is bringing molecular diagnostics into the home, starting with strep throat. Its work aims to make testing more accessible for rural, low-income and underserved communities while helping reduce unnecessary antibiotic use.
Immunomatics is developing AI-based donor matching to make transplants safer. Founder Lidio Meireles, PhD, brings experience as both a computational biologist and a blood stem cell transplant survivor to the challenge of reducing transplant complications.
Eagle Cathedral City, led by founder and CEO Phillip Nalwalker, is building an inclusive LGBTQ+ bar in the Palm Springs area. Its plans connect the business with community support through funding for the Transgender Health and Wellness Center, sponsorship of local LGBT sports teams and revenue sharing with local LGBT creators.
Each founder will have five minutes to pitch, followed by ten minutes of judges’ questions, five minutes of audience questions and a one-minute closing argument.
For anyone who wants to become a more thoughtful investor, the questions may be the most valuable part of the evening.
Léa Bouhelier-Gautreau, Senior Investment Associate for Impact Investing at KingsCrowd, examines how a company’s impact connects to its business model. Can growth produce more positive impact? Is there evidence that the business can sustain that growth and deliver on its mission?
Paul Lovejoy, Principal Investment Advisor at Stakeholder Enterprise, focuses on risk and potential reward. What assumptions must hold for the business to succeed? What happens if they don’t? Does the investment offer potential returns that justify the risks?
Woodie Neiss, General Partner at Crowdfund Capital Advisors and one of the people who helped write the framework that became Regulation Crowdfunding, looks for evidence of execution. What has the team accomplished? Are customers buying? What measurable progress will the money being raised make possible?
Listen for those questions. Consider how you would evaluate the answers. You can carry what you learn into your next investment decision, whether or not you invest in any of these companies.
You’ll also help determine the outcome: the audience vote decides the SuperCrowd Award, while the judges select the Judges’ Choice Award.

At 10 PM Eastern / 7 PM Pacific, the four founders will return for a post-pitch investor session on Zoom. This session is open to anyone interested in investing in one or more of the four companies.
It’s your opportunity to ask follow-up questions, explore what you heard during the broadcast and gather more information for your own evaluation. The pitches won’t be repeated, so plan to watch the livestream first.
