See the Great Companies We're Considering at the Next Impact Cherub Club Meeting
Superpowers for Good should not be considered investment advice. You should seek appropriate counsel before making investment decisions. When you purchase an item, launch a campaign or create an investment account after clicking a link here, we may earn a fee. Engage to support our work.
As we gear up for the 1:30 PM Eastern, September 16, meeting of the Impact Cherub Club, we invite you to join us. The club meets to review impact investments that everyone is eligible to make and that virtually anyone can afford. We share responsibility for completing basic due diligence before making investments. While members are encouraged to invest in the Club’s picks, no one is required to invest.
The Club is open to all “Impact Members” of the SuperCrowd (our paying subscribers). I don’t touch the money members invest. They do so directly for their own accounts. We benefit from new members by the fresh perspectives they bring and our growing social impact. Please join us!
Next Meeting—September 16, at 1:30 PM Eastern
At our next meeting on September 16, at 1:30 PM Eastern/10:00 AM Pacific, consistent with our plans for future sessions, the agenda will have three items:
Diligence Reports
Post Mortem
Preliminary Consideration of New Candidate Investments
I’ll review those items in reverse order.
New Company Consideration
After some preliminary screening, I’ve shared some candidate offerings with the members of the club to choose which we’ll review this month. Members chose the following:
InfiniCell
InfiniCell is raising capital via a Reg CF SAFE on Wefunder, offering future equity ahead of a projected $13.5 million valuation (early investors benefit from a $12.15 million cap). The company is developing aluminum-ion batteries that promise to be safer, ultra-fast charging, non-flammable, and built from abundant materials—addressing lithium-ion’s vulnerabilities in EVs, grid storage, and aerospace. Founded by a PhD battery scientist with 14+ years of R&D experience and a pending safety-focused patent, InfiniCell has functional prototypes under its belt and is looking to scale through licensing and partnerships. It’s a rare chance to back next-generation energy storage before the shift beyond lithium unfolds.
SOHO MD
SohoMD is offering a Reg CF SAFE round through Wefunder at a $60 million valuation cap, with an Early Bird bonus on the first $250K of investment at a $53 million cap. The company brings together psychiatry, therapy, functional medicine, AI-driven clinical decision support, and even patent-pending VR therapy, offering personalized, scalable mental healthcare. Having served 70,000 patients across 19 states and achieved ~$20 million in 2024 revenue with profitability in recent months, SohoMD is projecting significant growth. This community round provides a unique chance to support an integrative, tech-driven mental health innovator having meaningful impact—and momentum.
Short-Fuse Offering
Each month, we spotlight a “short fuse” offering—an investment opportunity with a tight fundraising deadline, often closing within a few weeks. These offerings don’t allow for our usual two-month, two-meeting review process, which includes an initial discussion followed by a final vote. Most short-fuse deals are small business loans that offer attractive financial returns while also allowing us to support community builders, social entrepreneurs, and underrepresented founders making a meaningful impact.
Post Mortem
At each Impact Cherub Club meeting, we devote just a few minutes to reflecting on a past investment—either one that has closed its doors or successfully completed repayment of a debt or equity commitment. We revisit the information we had at the time of our decision and compare it with the actual outcome, asking ourselves what we might learn. This brief exercise sharpens our judgment, helps us spot patterns, and improves our ability to make thoughtful, impact-focused investment choices in the future.
Diligence Reports
We’ll begin with the due diligence reports from the Impact Cherub Club members who volunteered to research the companies after we briefly learned a bit about them last month. After hearing the members’ reports, we’ll vote to determine whether or not to recommend investment in the companies. The decision will be made available to all Impact Cherub Club members, including those who don’t attend this month. Register here.
Here are the companies we’ll learn more about this month:
Greenopia
Greenopia is a sustainable-investing opportunity open now through Netcapital’s Reg CF platform—available until October 31, 2025, with a minimum commitment of $99. The firm is valued at approximately $4.55 million and has already secured around $22,950 in this round. It stands out with a proprietary system for verifying sustainable, healthy businesses and a legacy of 120,000 verified listings, paired with 75,000 sold guidebooks. Funds will support the development of a user-friendly app, streamlined onboarding, marketing, salaries, and operational essentials—a clear first step to digital scale.
Positive Polar
Positive Polar offers a bold, purpose-driven investment on Wefunder, combining adventure tourism with marine restoration. Valued at $10 million, the company has already secured $73,211 from 38 investors toward its $1.24 million Reg CF raise (min. $100). Their proprietary “whale biomimicry” technology transforms ship-generated waste into nutrients to restore marine ecosystems, while guests embark on immersive polar expeditions. Multiple revenue streams—ticket sales, cargo delivery, carbon credits, licensing—are complemented by a commitment to invest at least 5 % of ticket revenue into R&D. Backed by a team experienced in cruise operations and biotech commercialization, Positive Polar offers both environmental impact and financial upside.
