Press Release – LOS ANGELES, CA; November 25, 2019 — Rare Genomics Institute (RG), a nonprofit providing direct support to undiagnosed rare disease patients, announced that it would launch a fundraising campaign on the upcoming GivingTuesday to help patients get better access to cutting edge genomics research and diagnostics tools. The funds would be used to power an array of RG programs, including our Advocacy Sequencing Program, RareShare, the rare Genomics Task Force and Rare Genomics Drug Initiative.
“We are bringing the power of genomics programs to the patients who have literally exhausted all other options of finding out what’s going on with them,” said Romina Ortiz,” COO of Rare Genomics. “Our GivingTuesday campaign is aimed at helping them to pinpoint the exact answer and, possibly, map ways to the cure.”

About Rare Genomics Institute
Rare Genomics Institute (RG) was founded in 2011 to fill the health care gap for undiagnosed rare disease patients and supporting research in rare diseases. RG helps rare disease patients find a diagnosis, treatment, and pathway to a cure by individualized access, coordination and execution of genetic sequencing and research services with RG and its affiliates.
RG also supports rare disease advocacy by fostering an online community of rare disease patients, and supporting rare disease research through a yearly grant competition. We hope that these efforts slowly push science and care forward to meet the needs of the patients affected by rare diseases.
