Live Interview on Forbes: Report, Your Feedback Needed
Last week, I tried something new in my Forbes blog. I’d love your feedback.
Using the Google Hangout hangout application I did a live interview with social entrepreneurs Andrew Parrucci and Chris Meyer of Planting Empowerment and Archana Verma of Ennovent. Andrew and Chris were in Washington, DC; Archana was in New Delhi India.
Andrew Parucci
Let me take just a moment to be in awe of the technology. When I was born, less than 50 years ago, doing a four-way video conference that was transmitted live around the world was not only impossible, it was virtually inconceivable. Just ten years ago, the idea of doing such a thing was the exclusive domain of large media networks. Last week’s event cost me absolutely nothing–not because Forbes subsidized it–because use of this technology is absolutely free to the users. I recognize that the twenty-somethings will find this paragraph irrelevant or anachronistic or both. I’m still thinking it is pretty cool.
The discussion with Andrew, Chris and Archana was interesting. Planting Empowerment is an organization that is creating sustainable forestry operations in Panama that respect the local culture, creating a business model with high impact triple-bottom line. Ennovent seeks to discover and support organizations like Planting Empowerment as they scale.
Please take a moment to watch the interview and let me know in the comments below or in the comments at Forbes what you think of the format and how we can make it more engaging for the readers.
