Life is Good Continues to #GrowTheGood with $125,000 CrowdRise Fundraising Challenge
Children’s charities come together to raise funds for kids in need while competing for over $125,000 in prize donations
Boston, MA – November 2, 2015 — Life is Good, the optimistic lifestyle brand, launches its first ever Life is Good $125,000 Challenge with CrowdRise today. The Life is Good Challenge features close to 100 children’s charities in a friendly fundraising competition. The company will donate $125,000 in prize money.
The Challenge asks participating nonprofit organizations to recruit their donors and supporters to become active ambassadors and fundraisers, rallying their own networks to help the organizations raise money and potentially win a grand prize donation from Life is Good. Regardless of where the organizations rank in the Challenge, they all keep every dollar their supporters raise. The prize money that Life is Good donates is added to the winning organizations’ fundraising totals.
The charity that generates the most contributions will be eligible to receive an additional $50,000. Second place will receive $30,000 and third place will receive $20,000 for their cause. Additionally, a total of $25,000 will be distributed through weekly ‘bonus challenges’ over the course of the month-long competition. There also will be a full day of action on #GivingTuesday, December 1st from 12:00:00am – 11:59:59pm ET, where $5,000 will be donated to the organization that raises the most on that day.
“At Life is Good we view our clothing and accessories as a vehicle to spread optimism, one of the most powerful tools we all have within us for living a happy and fulfilling life,” said Bert Jacobs, Co-founder, Life is Good. “This Challenge addresses the people most in need – children affected by illness, poverty or violence – and rallies the community to pitch in and help. By joining together, we can help bring more optimism into the world, hopefully teaching these kids that life is not easy, life is not perfect, but life is good.”
The Life is Good $125,000 Challenge launches on Monday, November 2nd at 2:00pm ET and runs for four weeks with the Grand Prize contest ending on December 2nd at 1:59:59pm ET. It follows on the heels of the national Life is Good Tour, during which company Co-founders and brothers Bert and John Jacobs visited 40 communities to help #GrowtheGood, celebrate the power of optimism, and raise and distribute over $1 Million to help kids in need.
There are several ways individuals can show their support for competing charities in the Life is Good $125,000 Challenge, including making a direct donation to their charity of choice through the Challenge homepage (https://www.crowdrise.com/LifeIsGoodChallenge), or by creating a personal fundraising page on CrowdRise, linking to their specific charity, and reaching out to their network to raise money throughout the Challenge. Charities that impact children are encouraged to apply to participate in the Challenge. Applications will be accepted until November 13 via https://www.crowdrise.com/lifeisgoodchallengesignup.
