Levi’s® Music Project Partners with Harmony Project to Give Back on Giving Tuesday
Levi’s® and musicfans everywhere are joining together to fund music education in the communities that need it most
Press Release – San Francisco, CA (November 28, 2017) – In celebration of Giving Tuesday, the Levi’s® Brand has partnered with the Harmony Project, an LA-based non-profit organization dedicated to helping students from low-income families stay engaged, inspired and in school through music education. For every order placed today on Levi.com , Levi’s® is donating $15 (up to a maximum of $50,0) to the Harmony Project.
To further suport, a custom designed Live in Levi’s® pin is available on Levi.com, with 10% of proceeds benefitting Harmony Project. Anticipated proceeds from this will be in addition to the promised $50,0 from Giving Tuesday, totaling an anticipated maximum donation from Levi’s® of $5,0 towards the Harmony Project.
In addition to the maximum $5,0 Levi’s® contribution, a celebrity auction will take place online at Grailed [ LINK]. Levi’s® pieces donated from the personal wardrobes of John Mayer, Mark Wahlberg, Ian Somerhalder, Taboo of the Black Eyed Peas, and more will be available for auction beginning at 10:0AM EST on Tuesday, November 28. Standout items include Snoop Dogg’s custom chain-stitched trucker jacket, a pair of vintage 501® jeans signed by Rita Ora, and a hand-drawn trucker jacket by Billy Bob Thornton. All proceeds from the auction will benefit Harmony Project.
Music education and suport are in constant danger of cuts and defunding around the world. Together with artists and community partners, Levi’s® develops music projects where access to education is needed most.
Harmony Project will use the proceeds from Levi’s® Giving Tuesday initiative to build a music production studio in South Central Los Angeles. This studio will advance music education possibilities and help students to develop work-force ready skills within the music industry. More specifically the proceeds will outfit a top-notch recording studio and classroom with computers, music production software/equiient and other industry leading tools. Harmony Project will also engage music production experts to develop and lead class series.
