Keiretsu Forum Mid-Atlantic Proudly Awarded Both $100,000 and $50,000 Investments During Fourth Annual Angel Capital Expo
Press Release – PHILADELPHIA – December 5, 2016 – Keiretsu Forum Mid-Atlantic (K4-MA), the industry leader and cornerstone of the Keiretsu Forum angel investment network, is proud to announce the success of its fourth annual Angel Capital Expo (ACE). The Angel Capital Expo was designed to foster collaboration among early-stage companies, angel groups and the larger investment community.
The expo was held on Oct. 26 at Drexel University in Philadelphia and attracted more than 200 attendees, along with approximately 150 accredited angel investors from the mid-Atlantic region and across the country. The day-long event consisted of 20-minute pitches from 10 companies vetted by Keiretsu and five-minute “fast pitch” presentations from five student companies deriving from various technology transfer, college and university business plan/idea competitions and seed-stage programs.
“The Fourth Annual Angel Capital Expo had our largest turnout. It is rewarding to see our members connect with entrepreneurs right after their pitches,” said Howard Lubert, President of Keirestu Forum Mid-Atlantic. This year, Keiretsu members and sponsors invested up to $200,000 to the Angel Capital Expo’s best company and to provide $25,000 in professional services-in-kind to the winning fast-pitch presenter.
“We are proud to give students an opportunity to get involved with the local investment community. Keiretsu hands out over 100 free tickets to the expo for students at local universities,” says Lubert.

Three to four of the screened companies are typically invited to present at subsequent monthly Forum meetings. Entrepreneurs invited to move forward to the Forum meetings must participate in mandatory professional coaching sessions to optimize the delivery of their presentations and also agree to participate in the road show to all four cities in the region, with exposure to 100+ investors.
