Join the Fight Against Gun Violence in America
Press Release – Queens, New York. May 15, 2018: Johnson and Johnson sponsored Public Health Platform (CaringCrowd) and Giffords Center Against Gun Violence are collaborating to raise $10,000 to fund Public Health Education and Research to address the growing number of fatal shootings in America (link).
Fact — The U.S. has the highest rate of child mortality due to guns than any other country in the world (World Health Organization).
No child should live in fear of a shooting at their school or in their community.
“When I was 16, a stray bullet went through my wall and hit me in my left hip, went 17 inches in my thigh and did not exit my body — Stacey, Gun Violence Survivor, Healthcare Movements Project Leader”.
Named one of the Top 5 American Public Health Priorities by Bloomberg Initiative, gun violence is responsible for 96 deaths every day in the United States. As federal funding of the CDC is being reduced, it is vital that we continue to tackle gun violence as a public health concern.
This project was verified by Public Health Leaders from Harvard, Johns Hopkins, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and other accredited universities.
Please pledge and share this project link to help reach the goal of $10,000.
Every dollar invested in research and education will be used to increase the safety of the children in America.
Stand against Gun Violence. Stand with Public Health.
