The SuperCrowd Has a Voice
In 2012, I deliberately began this journey, starting a newsletter called Your Mark on the World and simultaneously contributing to Forbes. What began as a personal commitment to amplify social impact has become something much larger: a platform, a community, and now a movement—what we call The SuperCrowd.
Over the next eight years, I wrote more than 500 articles for Forbes and a comparable number for Your Mark on the World. I retained the copyright to my Forbes work, enabling me to republish it and share it with my own growing community. This strategy allowed me to build a loyal subscriber base that was hungry for stories of impact—stories about people using business and finance to solve the world’s biggest problems.
As I covered impact investing and social entrepreneurship, I quickly gravitated to regulated investment crowdfunding—a new legal structure, passed into law just four months before I began at Forbes. This space felt like home. It was practical, powerful, and full of possibility. I soon found myself in touch with many of the original architects and advocates of the JOBS Act. Those early relationships formed the roots of what we now call The SuperCrowd.
In the years since, I’ve continued to write, speak, host, invest, and build in this space. I’ve also served on the board of the Crowdfunding Professional Association for nearly a decade. But more importantly, I’ve been privileged to help grow a network of people like you—founders, investors, and community builders who believe that capital can serve the common good.
That’s why I’m thrilled to introduce our newest initiative: SuperCrowd Voices from the Community.
What Is SuperCrowd Voices?
SuperCrowd Voices is a new section of the Superpowers for Good newsletter, dedicated to sharing the authentic stories, insights, and reflections of our community—the people building the future of impact crowdfunding.
We published our first piece on Monday, an inspiring piece from FundingHope founder and CEO Dorian Dickinson. Another post goes live Thursday. Starting today, we’re inviting you—the SuperCrowd—to be part of this new phase.
Why It Matters
This new section is more than a content strategy. It’s a recognition of something that’s always been true: you have something valuable to say. Whether you’re a founder in the middle of a raise, an investor reflecting on your journey, or a changemaker building infrastructure for others—your voice matters.
SuperCrowd Voices helps:
Elevate underrepresented perspectives
Share lived experience and hard-won wisdom
Offer insights that can strengthen this movement
Build credibility for contributors
Deepen trust and curiosity across our community
We believe that stories spark action—and that thoughtful storytelling can grow both your influence and ours.
What We’re Looking For
We want to publish everything that’s great and relevant. That includes:
Personal founder journeys
Reflections on raising capital from the crowd
Lessons learned as an impact investor
Big ideas for improving the space
Candid commentary on social entrepreneurship, community capital, or economic justice
We don’t publish purely promotional content. But we do love stories that invite connection, insight, and conversation.
It’s Not Just a Post—It’s a Conversation
Because we publish on Substack, your article doesn’t live in isolation—it lives in a community. Readers can comment, ask questions, and engage with your story. You can respond, connect, and even spark collaborations.
Each post is the beginning of a conversation, not the end of one.
How to Participate
You have two options:
Submit a polished piece (600 – 1500 words works well).
For founders with a live, regulated investment crowdfund offering, fill out our simple Q&A form—we’ll edit and format it for you.
Submit here: s4g.biz/scv.
We’ll review your submission quickly, offer light editing, and schedule publication based on quality and fit.
Your Voice Belongs Here
We’re proud to launch this new space. But it only works if you participate. If you’ve ever wanted to share your story, spark new thinking, or simply join the conversation—now’s your chance.
The SuperCrowd is already powerful. Let’s make it even more connected, more visible, and more vocal.
We’d love to share your voice.
