Help For Orphaned and Abandoned Children
Fahad Hassan is working to care for orphans in Pakistan. he is raising money on Indiegogo. Recently, I caught up with Fahad to learn more about the effort; here’s what he told me:
What is the social benefit you hope to achieve with or through your crowdfunding campaign?
We aim to rebuild hope where it’s been damaged or lost. We work with those in need, those who are underprivileged, and those who are underserved to rebuild and restructure. Our focus lies on community efforts, including small-scale construction protects, shelter, food aid, community awareness, and educational opportunities. We firmly believe it takes a village to raise a child, and if you work on creating the most well equipped society you can, so many problems simply work themselves out.
In Mux Homes we care and educate orphaned and abandoned children. There are many reasons on how they became orphans. Some became because they were illegitimately conceived and others because their parents are unable to feed them because of poverty and gave us to be looked after.
How much money are you hoping to raise and why? How much have you raised so far?
We have raised $60 so far and our target is $500. We have decided to give our children New Winter Clothes (including jackets, socks and dresses), A Party with Full Fun (including better lunch than normal days, different playing activities, and full on music), and in last we will give them Gifts for Christmas (including stuffed toys and reading books).
We have calculated all prices (see below for details) and it will cost $20 per child.
Jacket = $8.75
Socks = $1/pair
Jeans & T-Shirts = $10.93 & $5.99 = $16.92
Stuffed Toys (for small kids) & Books (for big kids) ranges from $0.51 to $1.99 each.
Better Food (like fruits, pizza, ,chocolates, burgers etc.) will cost $4.00 per child
Total will be approximately $31.67 per child. But our children’s age ranges from 4 to 14 years, and you know small kids clothes are bit cheaper than big kids. So we calculated it on average and it will be approximately $20.00 to $21.00 per child.
Whom are you trying to help with your project and why?
As we all know Christmas and New Year are coming within few days. So we Mux Homes decided to give our children a belated New Year’s Party with Santa Claus in 2nd week of January. Yes I know It will be a bit late, but we are limited in funds and cannot afford this Party on time. That’s why we started this campaign to raise funds for our children.
