Help Fund Drug Treatment in Pakistan

Fahad Hassan is working to provide drug treatment and education to people in Pakistan. He is raising money on Indiegogo. Recently, I caught up with Fahad to learn more about the effort; here’s what he told me:

What is the social benefit you hope to achieve with or through your crowdfunding campaign?

According to reports, there are 6 millions peoples in Pakistan from aged 14 to 65 are drug dependents. Our mission is to give them their life back by rehabilitation and giving proper treatment. We are with a mission to create a drugs-free and healthy society. We have a team of dedicated professionals who are working day and night to give the addicted and psychiatric patients a new life. We are committed to Reducing the barriers by Promoting charges of attitudes and practice among both women and men. Taking proactive measures to promote the people not to take drugs. To provide continuing support to educate the people and to intimate them regarding disadvantages not to take proper training and education will make a lot of difficulties in all walks of life. To provide free medical facilities to the poor and needy people. To provide assistance to general peoples from avoiding use drugs and injurious for health. To provide special medical assistance to the peoples who intend to serve the general public for medication and facilitation.

How much money are you hoping to raise and why? How much have you raised so far?

I just started my campaign and only raised $2 so far. And my goal is to raise $10,000. By which we can expand our accommodation facilities for rehabilitating more patients. Will hire more staff to serve drug addicted patients. And also will help poor needy peoples who ruined their lives by drugs abusing. We committed to improving the lives of families and individuals affected by Narcotics proactively advancing research for better understanding, better treatments and a cure; educating the public and healthcare professionals about all forms; advocating for universal Anti Narcotics screening; and providing support services and resources vital to the society. We focused mission to provide quality health and social services to underserved communities, by using innovative and participatory approaches and to provide the free medical treatment to the general public.

Whom are you trying to help with your project and why?

Trying to help drug addicted peoples, Integrated care delivery for NARCOTICS patients and their families. Counseling and support services for NARCOTICS patients and families. Training of medics, paramedics, nurses and counselors in medical care and counseling of NARCOTICS patients and families. To improve knowledge and practice of HIV preventive measures including use of high quality STI services, by the general adult public. To increase general public access to appropriate information related to NARCOTICS. To increase utilization of already established networks of healthcare services for the dissemination of NARCOTICS information and prevention material. The objective is to develop, disseminate and encourage adherence to national guidelines and policies on infection control.

What rewards, if any, are you offering to your supporters?

As of now, we are offering a few rewards related to Drug Awareness Programs. Including books and ebook for self awareness about drugs and their affect on daily life. Information about most popular drugs currently being used in countries. And also if someone wants any particular drug information. also offered a limited reward of T-Shirts with logo.
