FundLatinos Crowdfunding Website Introduces No-Fee November
Waives All Fees for Personal and Community Latino Fundraising Campaigns
Press Release – BOSTON, Mass. (November 2, 2016) – FundLatinos, a recently-launched crowdfunding website, announces that it will waive its fees during the month of November. FundLatinos offers a trusted environment for Latinos to raise money for personal and community causes that matter – from Quinceañeras and wedding celebrations to education, medical, business and community-based initiatives. Developed specifically for Latino communities across the United States, the website focuses on simplicity, social media sharing and an invitation to fund any size campaign.
“In the spirit of generosity that surrounds the Thanksgiving holiday, we are waiving our 5% fee on all donations to fundraising campaigns on FundLatinos.com. Our aim is to support Latinos who create fundraising campaigns to raise money for their personal and community needs,” said Andrew Vassallo, General Manager of FundLatinos. “We hope to foster a spirit of giving and generosity within our community. Waiving our fees is a small step that will allow Latino community members to reach their fundraising goals faster.”
According to the Latino Community Foundation, charitable causes close to Latinos’ hearts include:
Religion (32%)
Education (15%)
Human Services (12%)
Gifts to Foundations (12%)
“FundLatinos builds on the Latino community’s natural inclination to help neighbors, friends and family,” said Jeffrey Glass, Chairman of FundLatinos. “We hope that Latino individuals will take advantage of our ‘No-Fee November’ to create meaningful campaigns that help them succeed in their fundraising efforts.”
One current campaign was created by two Colombian-born twin sisters who have joined with FundLatinos to help realize their dream of opening their Chocolaffe storefront in Revere, Massachusetts. Chocolaffe will sell twins Angelica and Diana’s clever combination of chocolate and Colombian coffee, and Maninuts, roasted peanuts covered in sesame seeds.
“We decided to start our business on our own, as independent businesswomen,” said Angelica Cardona Ramirez. “We are so happy to join the FundLatinos family, and we’re thankful that anyone can make their own campaign so that we can support one another.”
Another campaign that showcases interest in the community is the national Latinarrific video-centric mobile app which encourages the 26 million bi-cultural U.S. Latinas to share their inspirational stories with other Latinas.
FundLatinos also encourages non-profit organizations to participate by hosting their campaigns on FundLatinos. While the website will be waiving fees for personal and community campaigns through November 30th, fees are always waived for all charitable organizations.

About FundLatinos
FundLatinos was conceived of by StartingFive Partners, a company created by several multi-time successful entrepreneurs and General Catalyst Partners. The idea was inspired by the realization that cause funding platforms and the businesses behind them often lacked a real sense of purpose and community. Several of the company’s founders felt particularly passionate about having a social mission that goes beyond traditional business goals.
As part of its commitment to the community, FundLatinos waives all of its fees for non-profit organizations, seeks to build partnerships with local media and aspires to bring in corporate sponsorships from businesses looking to support the Latino community. Unlike some other crowdfunding platforms, FundLatinos disburses all monies raised, regardless of whether the campaign goal is reached.
