Congratulations to Our June Changemakers of the Month From Ekam
Congratulations to the team and volunteers at Ekam USA, including youth ambassadors Abhay Basireddy, Harun Vemulapalli and Harsha Vatsavayi. The organization was founded by Abhay’s mother Neelima Reddy, a gastroenterologist, founded the organization as a sister charity to the Ekam Foundation in India, which was founded by Dr. Sai Lakshmi Balijepally.
Reddy explains Ekam’s vision, “To provide healthcare for children and mothers in need. Our mission is that No child should be denied healthcare due to financial reasons. No parent or doctor should feel guilty for not being able to provide medical care. Our goal is to empower communities and focus on preventive care as well as reduction of infant and maternal mortality.”
As the Changemakers of the Month, they will receive 10 annual passes to GoodCrowd.school and an autographed copy of Your Mark on the World, together worth more than $2,500. They will also be eligible for our Changemaker of the Year voting in December, which will include a cash prize.
