Never miss another interview! Join Devin here: http://bit.ly/joindevin. When Carolynn Cameron was prevented from adopting a child in Uganda by a change in the law, she quickly shifted her focus and found another way to serve the people there. Cameron, a volunteer leader at Cherysh America Foundation, recently raised $50,000 to deploy an advanced, solar-powered microgrid at an orphanage there. The system is designed to be safe and sustainable for many years. She raised the money on CaringCrowd, a global health crowdfunding site sponsored by Johnson & Johnson. Every project is screened by a panel of experts to confirm that each will have an impact on global health. The site is made available as a public service; J&J derives no revenue from projects funded on the site. Check out my free webinar where I share the secrets of successful nonprofit crowdfunding at http://crowdfundingforsocialgood.org.
