AFP Announces Partnership With DonorPerfect In Support of Women’s Impact Initiative
Press Release – (Arlington, Va.) The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), the largest community of fundraising professionals in the world, has announced a new partnership with DonorPerfect, the leading cloud-based fundraising platform for nonprofits, to support the association’s Women’s Impact Initiative.
The Women’s Impact Initiative, or WII, is a comprehensive AFP campaign to assess, address and highlight the specific issues and challenges that women in the fundraising profession face. The Initiative has already conducted the first-ever comprehensive study of harassment in fundraising and released ground-breaking research on the gender salary gap in the profession. WII is also creating resources to address these and other issues, including unconscious bias and male allyship, to achieve full gender equity in the fundraising profession.
“DonorPerfect has been an exceptional partner to AFP’s Women’s Impact Initiative from the release of the March 2018 Nonprofit Leadership Workbook for Women to its newly released #TimesUp for Sexual Harassment in Fundraising Workbook,” said Tycely Williams, CFRE, chair of WII. “These educational resources offered at no cost enable us to share best and promising practices that help individual fundraisers while creating inclusive cultures that actualize a commitment to diversity, equity and access.”
“The Women’s Impact Initiative is one of the most important projects that AFP has ever launched,” said Mike Geiger, MBA, CPA, president and CEO of AFP. “In a profession and a sector where issues like equality, justice and fairness frame our work and define who we are, achieving gender equity is an absolutely critical goal. DonorPerfect has demonstrated its commitment to these values through its own work and resources, and we are so pleased to be able to partner with it in pursuit of our common goal.”
Since its founding more than 30 years ago, DonorPerfect has helped thousands of organizations— through more than 50,000 monthly users—raise over $100 billion. The company has actively supported the advancement of women in fundraising through the publication of its own Nonprofit Leadership Workbook for Women. It is also working on a new publication designed to help combat sexual harassment in the profession.
“AFP and DonorPerfect have enjoyed a strong relationship for over 25 years, and the sponsorship of the Women’s Impact Initiative is another major milestone in that great partnership,” said Jon Biedermann, vice president of DonorPerfect. “It’s important to our fundraising sector to recognize the gaps that currently exist, and to bridge that gap in order to build even greater community and collaboration in the sector.”
“DonorPerfect is committed to promoting the progress of women in the nonprofit sector as they seek to champion crucial causes,” said Emily Rose Patz, content marketing manager at DonorPerfect and lead author of The Nonprofit Leadership Workbook for Women and #TimesUp for Sexual Harassment in Fundraising. “We hope that DonorPerfect users, along with all members of the nonprofit community, can benefit from the research, content, and engagement offered through our valuable partnership with AFP’s Women’s Impact Initiative.”
